L-Arginine is a versatile amino acid serving as a precursor for the manufacturing of proteins, nitric oxide, urea, glutamate, and creatine in the body. Increased L-Arginine in the body may lead to an increase of Nitric Oxide (NO) production, which may also increase blood flow during exercise, allowing for muscles to perform longer under stress. The vasodilation effect of Nitric Oxide may provide a fuller and more satisfying pump during exercise.The presence of L-Arginine is said to put the urea cycle in overdrive, allowing it to suck up more ammonia (composed of nitrogen molecules) which are produced by working muscles. This increase in arginine in the blood leads to increased NO production, the increase of NO increases blood flow during exercise and allows for muscles to perform for longer while under duress, which gives weightlifters the ability to produce bigger muscle pumps. The added bonus of Alpha-Ketoglutarate (AKG) gives Arginine increased absorption and performance in the body for usage.†
